I posted the story behind this ring recently. I would like to thank everyone for their comments. You guys are great. A few thought that the lead photo didn't seem to show off the tourmalated quartz stone very well. And I absolutely agree with them.

Since then, I bet I've taken at least 200 photos of this ring and none of them really do it justice.

I think this is probably the best I've been able to get:

Still not great, but at least you can see the tourmaline fibers a little better.

When I reach the point when the photography and editing take almost as much time as making the ring, it's time to quit. I think I've reached that moment.

In the meantime, I've made a couple more rings! Expect to be seeing them posted really soon. (I've just got to get those photos to look better. Sigh.)

I hate it when the ring looks great in person, but the photos are just ...blah.

In frustration, I just deleted all the photos from my computer. I give up for now.

The ring looks great even tho' the photos may not show it off the best. I hate it when I work that hard on something and can't get a picture to do it justice. I know what you mean about the picture- taking and editing taking as long as making the item.

It's a beautiful ring and I know the feeling when you just can't get a good shot of the product! Pictures never do justice to so many handmade items.

I've pretty much stopped working with moonstones because I can't get them to photograph well. And for a while, I almost gave up on labradorite!

I feel your pain... I have a few items in my Etsy shop that I can't get the photos to do justice. Frustrating, to say the least!
