Hi Anne, thanks for visiting my humble blog! I went to your other one and read your Irish joke.... and I just couldn't stop laughing!!!! I live on the coast of the Irish Sea in England and it is only a 2 hr. ferry ride to Dublin...where I know you must have done research for that joke!!! It is soooooooo Irish!!!!!! xoxo Carol.....p.s. your blogs are inspiring!!!!
I remember a friend of mine talking about her mother. When her mom was pregnant with her, the doctor told her that a drink or 2 in the evening were just fine - they would be beneficial because they would relax her.
That was in the 50s. Can you imagine anyone saying that today!
Actually, yes, having a drink or two (not every night, of course) is not so bad for an expectant mother. It DOES help you relax and for some of us that's extremely beneficial.
Yes, I'm an uptight mother who rarely drinks, so for me it was good advice. And it came from my own mother!
that's just crazy!
ReplyDeleteTimes have changed, huh?

ReplyDeleteI love the old ads. Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteYes, so hilarious! My mother is really intimidated by doctors & would never question them! I guess it's a generation thing.
